Description
This document will introduce how to use Milesight VCA on Genetec in two parts according to different Genetec versions.
1. For Genetec version 5.10.0 or above
2. For Genetec version below 5.10.0
1. For Genetec version 5.10.0 or above
If you are upgrading Genetec from a lower version to 5.10.0 or above, please make sure to install Security Center Drivers of version 10.8.2 or above.
The following is the download link of the Security Center Drivers for version 10.8.2:
Step1: Add your camera in Config Tool.
Chose Manufacturer: ONVIF and Product type: All, then input your device information.
Step2: Enable Option → Events → Event Option in Security Desk Interface.
Step3: Add Event monitoring camera in Monitoring interface.
2. For Genetec version below 5.10.0
Step1: Close Security Desk and Config tool.
Step2: Stop Genetec Server Service.
You could right-click the computer icon, select the “Manage” option.
When enter the “Computer Management” interface, click the “Services” option in “Services and Applications”, then drop down to find and stop Genetec Server.
Step3: Replace the two configuration files Onvif.cam2 and ONVIFUnitConfiguration.xml with the target path of
(Note: The following is the default installation address, you can replace the file according to the actual installation location)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Genetec Security Center 5.9\Extensions\Drivers

Step4: Run Genetec Server Service.
Step5: Open Config Tool，chose Manufacturer: ONVIF and Product type : All with Custom Events.
Stpe6: Enable Option → Events → Custom event in Security Desk Interface.
Step7: Add Event monitoring camera in Monitoring interface.
Through above steps, you could check the triggered Milesight VCA event in the pull down box of monitoring interface.
